Halley Medical Aesthetics

Lift it. Smooth it. Plump it.

Restore volume, smoothen wrinkles, and enhance your facial features without downtime or surgery with dermal fillers.

Everyone will notice a new you but no one will know why.

One of the biggest concerns people have is that they will look unnatural and overfilled after a filler treatment.

But dermal fillers done by experienced doctors with an aesthetic eye and in-depth understanding of the facial anatomy can rejuvenate a tired face and enhance your looks naturally with no downtime at all.

And that’s what our doctors deliver when you step into Halley Medical Aesthetics for a dermal filler treatment.

“Natural-looking results start with understanding each patient’s concerns. By selecting the right filler for the right area, we can enhance features subtly without looking overdone.”

What can dermal fillers do for you?

1. Anti-ageing

Dermal fillers replenish age-related volume loss and provide structural support, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and improving mild to moderate sagging caused by skin laxity.

2. Enhance facial features

Dermal fillers can be used to sculpt and contour the face, enhancing definition and bringing out your natural features.

Treatment areas for dermal fillers

Dermal fillers are used to support facial rejuvenation and contouring by addressing volume loss and enhancing natural facial proportions in different areas of the face. Each treatment is personalised based on individual needs and goals.

Types of Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers can be grouped into three types:

Hyaluronic acid fillers

Contains hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural compound found in our skin. HA fillers restore volume and can offer temporary structural support. They are gradually broken down by the body over time.

Collagen-stimulating fillers

Contains safe, biocompatible compounds that volumise the area and stimulates the body’s fibroblasts to produce collagen, leading to gradual and long-lasting structural support.

Collagen Fillers

Contain purified collagen that replaces volume and integrates into the surrounding tissue, providing structural support. It will be gradually metabolised by the body over time.

Firm or soft? What do I need?

There are many different filler brands available and each brand contains a line of different dermal fillers, which are differentiated based on the firmness and viscosity (thickness and stickiness) of the gel.

Whether you need a firmer or softer dermal filler will depend on the area that requires treatment, the condition of your skin, and the desired result. In areas with thinner or more delicate skin, softer HA fillers or collagen-stimulating fillers may be used for subtle correction.

On the other hand, firmer dermal fillers are typically placed deeper to provide structural support, restore volume loss, and enhance definition in areas such as the jawline or nose.

If your skin is looser, for instance, a softer filler (e.g. Juvederm Volbella, Belotero Soft, Restylane) may be used for a more natural look.

On the other hand, a dermal filler that is firmer and higher in viscosity (e.g. Juvederm Voluma, Belotero Intense, Radiesse+) provides a good underlying foundation to fill up facial volume loss, support sagging skin, and allows the doctor to sculpt or enhance specific facial structures like your cheekbones or nose.

Why is technique important?

Injection technique is important in both safety and aesthetic outcomes. While product selection matters, correct depth and placement are essential for natural-looking results.

Both needles and blunt-tip microcannulas are used in filler treatments, with the choice depending on the treatment area and clinical judgement.

A microcannula is a blunt, flexible tube inserted through a small entry point to deliver filler beneath the skin. Benefits of the microcannula method includes:

Lower risk of vascular injury (bleeding)

Reduced bruising and complications

Fewer skin entry points and discomfort

Safer with fewer possible side effects

Smoother distribution of filler more natural-looking results

Customised dermal filler treatment to suit the individual's needs.

Dermal Filler FAQs

Most facial fillers contain lidocaine, an anaesthetic, which numbs the treatment area. The doctor will also use multiple treatment protocols like the use of numbing cream, microcannula, and even ice packs to make the treatment a comfortable one.

It depends on your facial anatomy, degree of volume loss, and treatment goals. Your doctor will assess and recommend an appropriate treatment plan during consultation.

After cleansing and numbing your face, your doctor will insert the filler with a microcannula. Treatment takes about 30 mins to one hour depending on your treatment area.

Yes, dermal fillers can be combined with other treatments. Patients commonly combine dermal fillers with botulinum toxins to enhance their face rejuvenation or facial contouring results. Dermal fillers can also be paired with Ultherapy PRIME for a more dramatic anti-ageing results. During your consultation, our doctors will create a customised treatment plan for you.

The longevity depends on the type of filler used and the treatment area, ranging from one to two years.

No special care is required. However, to minimise swelling and bruising after your dermal filler treatment, please follow these guidelines:

- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours to reduce the risk of bruising.

- Avoid painkillers such as aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), as they can thin the blood and increase bruising and swelling.

- Do not rub or massage the treated areas for 24 hours. Cleanse your face gently without applying pressure.

- Avoid vigorous exercise for 24 hours to reduce the risk of bruising.

- Avoid saunas and steam rooms for 24 hours, as excessive heat can dilate blood vessels and increase swelling or bruising.

Your doctor will provide additional instructions if necessary based on your individual treatment.

Side effects are usually temporary and typically resolve within a day to a week. For the best recovery, follow your doctor’s instructions.
